About

That exciting feeling of making a rig better and conquering a obstacle I was previously unable to do, that's what keeps this all fun.

I'm John, I'm a natural-born tinkerer—I love to build, I love to create, I love to work with my hands, I love to think about possibilities and variables—I like to try things and fail at them and then try again and see if I can succeed. I like looking at different systems and picking out good things about them, things that work well, things that bring balance, things that bring harmony. I like to try to take those things and integrate them together to make something special, and that's what I feel like we've done with the Stainless 24.

It started as a concept, a seed planted by the Jab chassis made by Tim Nottebaert of Belgium. I liked the angled skid and long rear links. It offset the weight bias forward, but it was still very controllable. Still had smooth suspension travel. It worked quite well. It was the first rig I had that could do a pickup line at near vertical.

I eventually got bored with cheater rigs and got into local SORRCA based scale competitions. It's fun having to run a body and full bumpers. You have to follow the rules but are able to be creative in doing so. That is really fun for me playing on an even field with other like-minded people.

Whenever I get a new truck in, the first thing I do is remove everything that is not absolutely necessary and then optimize logistics of what's left let the major components set the weight bias then take everything as low as possible. I learned that lower weight is more useful than just forward weight and that If the weight is low enough you won't need a crazy offset bias. So that's how I build.

Then I got into SCX24s, had a kid to wheel with now. My passion moved from 10th scale and competitions to 24th scale and having fun with builds and what's possible.

So back to the beginning I went, I checked out some lcg chassis and built em. Went back and forth on different style setups but couldn't get that pickup style line. So to the drawing board we went. Needed to perform like the newer 10th scale cheaters to really have fun and that means one thing, carrier bearing time.

Early days were a single wheel base. But we needed options, made a short medium and long wheelbase. Integrating the short and long links with the chassis we are able to build 4 different wheelbases 155 - 172mm all from the same plate. We didn't know it then but that was version 1.

Now were running version 5. Customer ideas were often too good not to incorporate. The whole roof concept was a total after thought and now shapes the curves of the truck. Multiple carrier positions was also a customer addition. After a couple frustrated days dealing with popping a trimmed stock driveshaft at the carrier location, he realized that if another hole were drilled you could add some space for a driveshaft and because the rear links are also mounted from the carrier bearing mount this helped the rear driveshaft angle. Solving 2 problems with 1 solution the additional 2 carrier mounting positions were immediately implemented.

Support from good crawler dudes has meant the absolute most on this journey. I cannot find the words to express the amount of gratitude I have for the people I've connected with on the way. This would not exist without you guys.

That leads me to what I can actually give back, a good product and good customer service. The FB Group has been the main place for information and build lists for the last couple years. If you have simple questions you can likely find answers there. If not then that "lets chat" button at the bottom right will get you to me also, so if you have questions ask away! Though there is lots of help around, I am the only one behind the day to day and have a job and family as many of us do. So please be patient if I cannot get with you immediately!

Overview

The Stainless 24, is a custom SCX24 chassis. Inspired by a lack of options, this LCG system uses Stainless Steel to put weight at the center of the truck. Low and forward where its needed, these chassis redefine what's possible.

The Kits come with short and long front and rear links. You can builld wheel bases from 155mm - 172mm with included links.

Build whatever style truck you like! Short or long, buggy, lexan or hardbody.

Craftsmanship aims to impress. The Plates are cut with hairline precision fiber lasers. The parts are left in the plate connected with .5mm on each end. Using a small tool thru the link holes, you gently push on the part while rocking it back and forth at each end of the part and they pop out, nice and easy. A fun step getting and assembling your kit!
